Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Engineering

A graduate in Financial Engineering is an ethically trained professional with the knowledge, abilities, skills, and competencies to manage and administer the economic and financial resources of an organization. They optimize available resources by efficiently using instruments and information systems for financial planning and by developing financial models that lead to increased company value.

They are capable of leading teams in financial-accounting research, strategic management, and the development and analysis of financial tools.

We train entrepreneurs who develop business plans from the start of the program, with the goal that graduates can have their own business upon completing their degree.

The Financial Engineering graduate from UPAL will be able to work in:

  • Financial system institutions: Banks, Cooperatives, and the Stock Market
  • Service, commercial, and industrial companies, both public and private
  • The creation and development of new businesses.
  • Higher education institutions as a consulting instructor
  • Financial projects as a consultant and researcher

Graduation Modalities

1. Thesis
A research project characterized by its methodological and scientific rigor, aimed at providing demonstrable solutions and answers to a scientific problem by proposing applicable alternatives or practical or theoretical solutions.

2. Graduation Project
A written project that meets the requirements of scientific methodology, describing an organized set of resources and actions aimed at generating proposals related to plans, programs, models, prototypes, architectures, devices, codes, installations, and other applications for a given process, unit, organization, group, product, or service, for its improvement, innovation, modernization, or technological development.

Graduation Exam
It consists of an evaluation through oral or written exams to measure the effectiveness of the professional training process, assessing knowledge, comprehension, analysis, and the application of theories and procedures to situations within a specific discipline. The number of exams will be determined based on the number of areas or disciplines within the professional field.

Directed Work
A systematic and methodical project resulting from addressing a practical problem or specific topic, developed in a public or private institution, or product or service company, accredited and recognized in the student’s area of expertise, presenting a research-based improvement proposal.

Graduation by Excellence
Graduation by excellence is a modality that exempts outstanding students from other types or graduation modalities; they voluntarily choose this graduation modality.
