A Biochemical Pharmacist trained at UPAL is a person of integrity with knowledge, skills, and values to:

  • Integrate knowledge from basic and complementary areas with biochemical, pharmaceutical, and industrial fields and apply them to professional practice.
  • Perform their duties within their field of expertise by applying biosafety principles with professional ethics.
  • Solve issues within the first, second, and third levels of healthcare service in pharmaceutical and laboratory activities.
  • Lead and/or work in teams in the management of pharmaceutical, laboratory, or industrial companies.
  • Fulfill the role of head pharmacist in the import and/or handling of medications, chemical reagents, and laboratory equipment.
  • Provide information about medications through medical visits.
  • Interact within healthcare teams and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Conduct research within their field of expertise.

Duration: 4 years + Internship

The biochemical pharmacist from UPAL will be able to work in clinical, cytological, genetic, and toxicological laboratories.

  • Private, hospital, and compounding pharmacies.

Bolivian Consulate in the country of origin
Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bolivia (Chancellery)

2. Original or copy of Birth Certificate, legalized by:

Graduation Modalities

Graduation Exam
An evaluation through oral or written tests to assess the effectiveness of the professional training process, evaluating knowledge, comprehension, analysis, and the application of theories and procedures to real situations in a specific discipline. The number of tests depends on the number of areas or disciplines involved in the professional practice.
